Science Fiction Movies

Science Fiction movies focus on political or social issues and are used to explore philosophical questions. There are many scenes of space travel, alien attacks, and time machines. Space scenes, fight scenes in zero gravity, and unrealistic scenes with lots of CG are often used. Three Science Fiction  1) SF Battle Action  2) Dystopia and 3) SF Comedy.


An example of an SF Battle Action is TERRA FORMARS (2016). It was a directed by Takashi Miike based on the hit comic book about the battle between humanity and cockroaches that have joined human form on Mars.  It has a lot of gorgeous cast members. In addition to the movie, there is a game, a manga, and anime. It grossed 780 million yen at the box office. 
An example of a dystopian movie is AKIRA (1988). A dystopian movie is the opposite of a utopia, a movie that districts a seemingly happy world but one that is constantly under surveillance. It is a Japanese anime post-cyberpunk action movie, directed by Katsuhiro Otomo and based on the1982 manga of the same name written by Otomo. AKIRA is a film set in Tokyo in 1988, when a third world war has broken out due to the use of a new type of bomb. In 1992, AKIRA won the Silver Scream Award at the Amsterdam Fantastic Film Festival. AKIRA was nominated for four American Anime Awards in 2007, but lost to Final Fantasy Ⅶ: Advent Children.

An example of an SF Comedy movie is Men in Black(1997). It is an American SF Comedy movie. This movie was directed by Barry Sonnenfeld and stars Tommy Lee Jones and Will Smith. A secret organization called the Men in Black oversees the extraterrestrial forces living on Earth and hides them from the general public. At the Academy Awards, the movie was nominated for three awards: Best Art Direction, Best Music Direction, and Makeup award. It has been aired 12 times in Japan on Friday
Roadshow and other programs.

  Full Metal Jacket is a 1987 American-British co-production, a war movie about the Vietnam War. Directed by Stanley Kubrick. Movie stars  Matthew Modine, Vincent D'Onofrio, and Ronald Lee Ermey. Ronald is an actor who served as a mentor during his time in the Marines. The movie cost 300 million yen to make and grossed over460 million at the box office. This movie didn't any awards, but the song in the movie was used as a parody in Japan. Kubrick said that he was disappointed that the movie was regarded as an anti-war movie.  The first half of the film depicts the hard training of recruits at a Marine Crops.  training camp, while the second half shows their actions in Vietnam. Martin Charles Scorsese

Martin Charles Scorsese is an American movie director and actor. He was born on November 17, 1942 in Queen ward, New York City. He had been watching a lot of movies since he was a child because he had asthma and couldn't play. As a boy, he wanted to be Catholic priest, not a movie director. Rick and Morty

Rick and Morty is an American animated television series. The genre is sf comedy, but it's also a space horror story. It was released on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim in December 2, 2013 and received great reviews from critics. It was nominated in 2015 for Best General Television/Broadcast Animation Production. There are 5 series in total, and they have been running from 2013 to present. There are 10 episodes per series and they are less than 30 minutes long! Cartoon Network is an animation channel that operates in the  United States and around the world. Adult Swim is the name of the broadcast time slot set aside in the U.S. to produce programming for adults. The general director are Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon.
