Full Metal Jacket is a 1987 American-British co-production, a war movie about the Vietnam War. Directed by Stanley Kubrick. Movie stars Matthew Modine, Vincent D'Onofrio, and Ronald Lee Ermey. Ronald is an actor who served as a mentor during his time in the Marines. The movie cost 300 million yen to make and grossed over460 million at the box office. This movie didn't any awards, but the song in the movie was used as a parody in Japan. Kubrick said that he was disappointed that the movie was regarded as an anti-war movie. The first half of the film depicts the hard training of recruits at a Marine Crops. training camp, while the second half shows their actions in Vietnam. The movie is more like a peek into the raw life of recruits during the war than a depiction of winning and losing the Vietnam War.
